Role: Fiber Optics Transceiver Test Engineer
Reporting to: Principal Engineer, Alex Tselikov
Location: Silicon Valley, CA
Role:
- Responsible for setting up a test system to collect data from arrays of transmitters/receivers
- Testing and analyzing performance of individual components, such as transmitters, receives, transimpedance amplifiers, drivers
- Testing and analyzing RF performance, link budget for fiber optic links.
Requirements:
- MS, PhD in electrical engineering/applied physics
- Knowledge of fiber optics and fiber optics communications, Knowledge of fiber optical transceivers is a plus. Experience in qualifying and testing optical transceivers is a big plus.
- Knowledge of RF design/testing/experiment setup
- Familiarity with network analyzers, DCAs, TDR, BER testers
- Familiarity with the physics of semiconductor devices (emitters and photodetectors)
- Experimental setup automation with python/Labview etc.. Scripting
- Basic knowledge of FPGAs, I2C interface, ADCs, DACs, microcontrollers…
- Experience with optical setups in the lab
- Data processing and analysis
- Willing to work in the lab
