Senior Digital Backend Designer

Role: Senior Digital Backend Designer

Reporting to: ASIC Director

Location: Edinburgh, UK

Requirements:

• BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or related field
• Basic understanding of fiber optics and fiber optic communications
• Familiarity with the physics of semiconductor devices (emitters and photodetectors)
• Understanding of RF design and testing
• Experience in setting up test systems on an optical bench
• Willingness to work in the lab is a must
• Ability to do lab automation scripting with Python, LabVIEW, etc is a plus
• Basic knowledge of working with digital hardware including FPGAs, I2C interface, ADCs, DACs, and microcontrollers
• Flexible, quick learner, ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
