Equipment Maintenance Technician

Role: Equipment Maintenance Technician

Reporting to: Equipment & Facilities Director

Location: Sunnyvale, CA

 

Role:

  • Troubleshoot and repair down wafer fab equipment to root cause of failure
  • Perform preventive maintenance in accordance with PM specifications
  • Give accurate and detailed pass downs of problems found and repairs performed
  • Work on assignments that may be routine, semi-routine, and or complex in nature where judgment and analysis are required
  • Update and maintain equipment logs and the MES system
  • Work with equipment engineering and other cross functional groups in support of continuous improvement activities for availability, productivity, and yield enhancement.
  • Provide input to facilitate improvements in equipment maintenance key processes, techniques, and procedures
  • Assist in equipment upgrades and the installation and startup of new equipment
  • Performing mechanical assembly of vacuum assemblies
  • Participate in spare part analysis and inventory management
  • Member of the ERT Team

 

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with a clean room environment and semiconductor processing equipment
  • Knowledge of E-beam evaporators, sputtering, ALD, RIE, ICP, PECVD, contact and stepper aligners, coat & develop tracks, and wet processing equipment
  • Able to read and interpret mechanical, electrical schematics, and drawings
  • Hands-on with a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Effective communicator both verbally and written
  • Ability to overcome unforeseen challenges in a dynamic work environment with changing priorities
  • Knowledge of Semi E10 and equipment uptime metrics (MTBF, MTTR)
  • Familiar with use and operation of shop tools, electronic testing equipment, leak detectors, and RGA’s
  • Minimum 3 years directly related experience in wafer fab, manufacturing or like setting
